Prescriptions
Ordering repeat prescriptions
The easiest ways to order repeat prescriptions using the GP online system via the link.
You can also:
- bring the paper form to the surgery
- Post it to us. If you include a stamped addressed envelope we will post your prescription back to you. Or the prescription will be available from reception or your pharmacy.
We do not take repeat prescription requests over the phone with the exception of from housebound patients.
Collecting your prescription
You can usually collect your prescription from the pharmacy 2 to 3 working days after you have ordered it.
You will need to choose a pharmacy to collect your prescription from. We call this nominating a pharmacy.
You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:
- on the app or website where you order repeat prescriptions
- at your GP practice
- at any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions
Please be aware that Tesco Pharmacy are only picking up prescriptions from the surgery on Tuesday and Friday. Please allow longer for your prescription to be ready to collect from Tesco.

Questions about your prescription
If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.
The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.
If you need to speak to your Doctor about your prescription, please book a telephone appointment.
Urgent prescriptions
If you have run out of your medicines and have been told to not stop taking your medication without consulting a Doctor, you can go to your local pharmacy and request an emergency supply. This will be enough for you to keep taking until we can get a new prescription to the pharmacy, even if we are open. Please note we cannot fax prescriptions to chemists.
Medication reviews
If you have a repeat prescription, we may ask you to come in for a regular review. We will be in touch when you need to come in for a review.
What to do with old medicines
Take it to the pharmacy you got it from or bring it in to the surgery. Do not put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet.
